Today was the first time the family has been together since Christmas. A police officer from the major crash unit came to Mum’s unit to give us an update, explain the legal process and empathise with us about its slow and cumbersome nature. Mum served coffee and mint slice chocolate biscuits as the police officer placed his briefcase on the table. With a perfect mix of mindful hesitation, he pulled out an envelope of photos. He showed us pictures of the crash that we hadn’t seen before and read from some witness statements.
“All of a sudden the van ahead of me stopped, the back rose up into the air a couple of meters and it smashed into a thousand bits of little pieces.”
Our family functions are fabulous.

OMG Sandra, you certainly know how to throw a party!! Please don’t ask me to your next one petal.
It’s so good that we managed to meet up a couple of weeks ago Sandra and I could see you had a good sense of humour, although I’d seen signs of that on here. I hope you saw mine too, although I know you struggled to understand what the hell I was talking about. lol. Ok so I talk fast when I’m excited, and I have a strong Manchester accent. Please don’t hold that against me cos I’m now proud to be an Australian citizen! Take care and look after yourself Sandra, you’re precious.
