< back to Sandra's blogDay 794 - Mother's Day

It’s the Sunday before the trial. Everyone came over for lunch and it was a good distraction for Mum. Nobody talks about Dad or the trial. Everyone likes to either pretend or move on much faster than I. Mum would argue that you've got to push yourself to distraction and have fun. She thinks to sit in the truth is to wallow. I disagree. I think one should be thorough, suppress nothing, feel everything, and then nothing can attack you later from within.

Amongst it all, Nanna and I had a little chat. It's Mother's Day; it's especially hard for her. She thinks what has happened can’t be changed and that time heals everything. She's partly right. Time helps but it doesn't heal.

To Nanna, healing doesn’t necessarily include forgiving. In fact she is completely unforgiving. She hates Andrea (“that girl” as she calls her). She says she was a nurse and she should have known better. Some people want to forgive, others don’t.

helping is healing.

Healed is different all together but possible. There will always be a scar though.

A scar is better than a wound.

A fatality free road is better than a scar.
