I'm feeling Anxious.
I'm looking for connections with others affected by road trauma, connections with others who are affected by road trauma in their work, people who understand grief and loss, ways to support others who have been affected by road trauma, tools to campaign for road safety, opportunities to educate others about the effect of reckless driving, and possibly to get people on board with JELLY-aid :).
I'm here because I want to remember someone who has passed away as a result of a road collision, I am involved in road safety education, a family member or friend has been affected by road trauma, I want to learn about road safety, I want to create a memorial, and jELLY-aid; seems we have similar objectives, but JELLY-aid is on a smaller scale..

I vaguely remember my Uncle being killed in a car accident when I was about 14. Then when I was 20 my ex boyfriend was killed while riding his motor bike home on our dark rural roads; 3 days later when my father was killed on his way home from work (he was an interstate truck driver).
the next couple of years I lost my grandmother and my brother to illnesses. Then the following year my cousin was killed when he decided to visit friends drunk on his motorbike; he was 26. The next few years other friends are killed all young, a young woman who was in my class at school. # your adults on their way home from Melbourne, who were speeding.
We had a break for a few years, but this year my 17 year old nephew was killed in a accident... the whole community is in shock and there has been a massive outpouring.
We decided due to his love of music and his involvement in the local music scene we would put together a festival in him honour; JELLY-aid. It has become huge!
