Lisa Leu

I'm feeling Okay.
I'm looking for connections with others affected by road trauma, people who understand grief and loss, ways to support others who have been affected by road trauma, and opportunities to educate others about the effect of reckless driving.
I'm here because I want to remember someone who has passed away as a result of a road collision.

My story

My brother Daniel Leu, died on the morning of 17th of April 2010. He was sleeping without a seatbelt in the backseat of a 4WD driven by his fiancé. They were travelling back from school holidays to the remote school in WA where they were both teachers. She lost control of the car around a bend on the gravel road and the vehicle rolled into a ditch. My brother was thrown from the car, and died on the scene from the injuries sustained.

Daniel was the most important person in my life, losing him has been the hardest thing I ever had to face. We were close, we lost our younger brother years ago and Daniel had been my source of strength and guidance through the tough times. I’m ok, I think, but my grief frequently catches me off guard and the feeling is unbearable.
