Roxanne Beetham

I'm feeling Okay.
I'm looking for connections with others affected by road trauma, connections with others who are affected by road trauma in their work, people who understand grief and loss, ways to support others who have been affected by road trauma, tools to campaign for road safety, and opportunities to educate others about the effect of reckless driving.
I'm here because I want to remember someone who has passed away as a result of a road collision and I want to create a memorial.

My story

Our beloved son Michael Beetham died as a passenger in an horrific accident with a truck. The car he was in was speeding, the driver lost control with the car veering onto the other side of the M1 straight into the path of an oncoming semi-trailer. Our son died instantly. The driver died on the way to Hospital. Our son was 18yrs 10mths when he passed on the 4th Feb 2008.

Not one day passes without my son Michael being on my mind. We never thought we would get that "knock on the door". Sadly this happens to parents all around Australia, we need to stand up and shout! ENOUGH!!!! Please, please help stop the slaughter on our roads! No one deserves a BROKEN HEART! :(
