My story:
I am a mother of two adult son's who ride pushbikes to work. I live in fear that I will one day get that dreaded knock at the door, telling me the worse news any mother would want to hear. My heart goes out to those who have already lost a loved one. I can only imagine what that is like. I write editorials for an Adult Campus Magazine, and write poems and short stories to encourage others. And in many cases, make people aware of things close to my heart. I feel very strongly as a mother, for those who suffer emotional and physical trauma.

My story:
My brother died Dec 2010 after a car accident aged 18yrs. He wasn't speeding or on the phone and although he only had his license 44 days he had exceeded his 120 hrs of learning. The day he had his accident it was torrential rain and police believe that someone has pulled out and not seen him and he slammed on his brakes and the car ran into a tree. He was air lifted to the Alfred Hospital but sustained head injuries that meant he was brain dead. The family was given the gut wrenching news and asked if we would consider donating his organs. My brother had wanted to become a paramedic so we decided to say yes. His death has helped 5 other lives. Although this does not help bring him back ! He was too young only 18 and still in school..how do we continue now ?? He was a gentle soul always helping others. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a teenage boy that got up to the usual stuff but is and was dearly loved by his family and friends. A car is a lethal weapon you can be doing nothing wrong and especially in the wet it only takes a small thing and a small speed to change hundreds of peoples lives forever. we will miss you forever little brother xox Please give us guidance xo

My story:
I had 2 brothers that passed away in separate car accidents in 1996 & 1999.. They were 21 & 17.. Both were my best friends as well as my brothers & to this day I still miss them a lot.. I don't have my drivers license yet thats how much I've been affected by it & now I'm 24.. It's a strange feeling to surpass your brothers age when they were essentially your older brothers.. My Dad is a grief counselor & does great work.. I just wish to share my story & hope to inspire people & help them in their journey as well as helping mine!
